HolylandMUN 2018 will be simulating the following committees this year:


The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO)

“The Parties undertake, as set forth in the Charter of the United Nations, to settle any international dispute in which they may be involved by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security and justice are not endangered, and to refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations.”

– Article I of NATO



NATO is a regional military organisation that comprises of North American and European nations. It has been tasked with intervening in armed conflicts on behalf of the Security Council.



Human Rights Council (HRC)

“When the fundamental principles of human rights are not protected, the centre of our institution no longer holds. It is they that promote development that is sustainable; peace that is secure; and lives of dignity.”

The Human Rights Council is the main UN organ dedicated to the promotion and protection of human rights across the globe, founded in 2006. It currently has 47 elected Member States and is chaired by Mr Vojislav Šuc of Solvenia.


United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP)




UNEP, established in 1972, is the UN’s main organ that deals with all issues relating to the environment.
